"Crowdsourcing" is the widespread Internet practice of inviting a group to collaborate on solving a task. Crowdsourcing has been used to write code, create winning logos and solve math problems. In 2003 Duke University gave any student an iPod who was willing to brainstorm learning applications for it. They were hoping to crowdsource educational innovation for a digital age. At the end of the year the diversity of learning application for the iPod exceeded what small committees at either Duke or Apple could have come up with on their own.
Crowdsourcing at UHS
At UHS we are inviting the community - students, staff, faculty and administrators - to come up with innovative ways of using the iPad for learning and teaching. To facilitate this project we will be using this Wiki to collectively record and archive our ideas. We hope everyone will bring their unique perspectives and ideas to this project!
